What has changed in CubeCart V6.0.6
While this release is not a feature packed upgrade (and doesnt include any security concerns), it does include 6 new features as detailed below (the first two of which were added as a result of our requests!) as well as a further 31 bug fixes, optimisations and upgrades to third party (in this case Smarty) code. - Support for Memcached
- The ability to easily delete products from the Stock Warning tab
- ReWriteBase added
- A 404 page has been added instead of redirecting to homepage on “Page not Found”
- Error checking if xCache is installed on server but not configured correctly
- Ability to create Admin Orders with digital downloads
CubeCart V6.0.6 Upgrade
If you are already running CubeCart V6 or even an older V5 site, then completing this upgrade can often be as simple as clicking on “Upgrade” within the Admin | Maintenance area. However there are some points to note specific to this version upgrade and if you are not comfortable with any of these then we strongly suggest that you order the CubeCart upgrade service from us.
- Put the store into maintenance mode and then always do a full backup before upgrading
- Always test the store immediately after the upgrade, before taking the store out of maintenance mode
- If you have made any changes to core files or any of the core skin files then these will be over-written
- If you are using the 3rd party Vector skin then this requires a small change to one core file. This is unlikely to ever be fixed as shopdev.co.uk are no longer maintaining or upgrading their software
