A new version (Version 7 Update 25) of this widely used software has been released and anyone who has this installed on their Windows PC should immediately upgrade as it contains important enhancements to improve performance, stability and security of the Java applications that run on your machine.
You should be automatically notified that a new version is ready to download but you can always check to see if you have the latest version installed by visiting the Java Verification page.
Another useful tool that is provided is the Java Uninstall Tool which will check for any older version that are still installed and allow you to easy remove them. Keeping old versions of Java on your system presents a serious security risk.

Hey, thanks for the great information about the uninstall tool – always been updating and never realised that older versions can sometimes be kept as well ! All old versions now deleted – thanks buddy !
