What forms of advertising are accepted for affiliates?

We allow practically any form of legal advertising. What follows is about how you promote us, not about your own website.

Methods that work well

  • A link or banner on your own website, particularly if you build sites for clients
  • Writing about your genuine experience of the hosting – a review or a blog post
  • Recommending us directly to people you work with
  • Pay-per-click advertising you pay for yourself
  • Printed material and word of mouth

What is not acceptable

We enforce a strict no-spam policy. Unsolicited bulk email, forum and comment spam, and anything that would breach the sender's own rules are not permitted. If you are caught spamming, the affiliate account is terminated and any commission owed at that point is withheld.

Also not acceptable:

  • Bidding on our company or brand name in paid search
  • Claiming to be us, or implying an official relationship beyond being an affiliate
  • Discount or voucher claims we have not offered
  • Misrepresenting what is included in a package

Be honest about the relationship

If you recommend us and earn commission, say so. In the UK that is required for advertising, and it costs you nothing – people who trust your recommendation are not put off by knowing it earns you something.

If you are not sure

Ask before you run it. We would much rather answer a question than withhold a commission after the event.
